Kimi Code 2.2.0 adds opt-in progress updates and tighter workspace orchestration

Moonshot released Kimi Code 2.2.0 on its stable channel, adding an experimental, optional mid-turn progress channel across terminal, web and Desktop views that is off by default. A new kimi app command can open a desktop chat in a selected workspace. Tower mode gains deterministic rebase and status behaviour with workspace protection, while background waits are capped at 90 seconds and can be interrupted by a new message. This is a developer-workflow release, not a new Kimi model or evidence of independently tested reliability.

Why it matters: The changes help users follow and interrupt longer agent work while making workspace selection and orchestration more predictable.

Official release published 14 October 2026 at 16:31 BST; marked as a stable release, not a prerelease.

Kimi Work adds Notion and Lark document co-editing

Kimi Work 3.2.15 adds co-editing support for Notion and Lark documents, including sidebar access, document cards, comments and page questions in its built-in browser. The release also fixes a problem that could corrupt PowerPoint files during concurrent editing. These changes concern Kimi Work; the official release notes do not announce the same features across every Kimi chat surface.

Why it matters: The update expands document collaboration and addresses a significant file reliability issue.

Kimi Code’s desktop client brings its coding agent into a graphical application with project sessions, visible tool activity and a built-in browser.
